Been a long time.

Everything is going so well, I have too pinch my arm to beleive it. I've had two swim sessions, three weight training, one bike and one run, and I'm starting to feel in shape.

School is going well, and no drugs, hard or soft, for the whole week. What more can I say? I got no complaints, and I have a follower. It's my mother, and I actually did the work for her, but she is a follower. Now I know there are some people out there reading the blog and I wish you all the best. It will not be a week until my next update. I hope to do it every evening, but when I stay at home I have no internet, so those days I will not be able to do it. I will try my best, because so far this looks to be the smartest thing I've done in my work to live a life without drugs.

What comes first?

I am falling behind in my studies. There seems to be no time for school inbetween rehab and training. That is a problem, because I want to finish my degree and get a job. I could probarbly get a job now aswell, but I want a good job. A job where I can help people. In rehab would be perfect, but that is not plausible in todays situation. I want to be independent, but then I have to finish this degree, atleast. I have to figure out if independence for myself now is more important than having a meaningfull job in the future. afterall there are ways to help others without working in rehab. Hmmmm.

Training is going fine and seems to be the reason that my rehab is going pretty well. Training and feeling good goes hand in hand these days. Strength today and this is how I am going to do it for now. 2 sets of 12 repetitions, and every new musclegroup gets a warm up set of 20 reps. (e.i.: Squats 1x20 w/the bar, then 2x12 with 40 kg). I do squats, dead lifts, calf raises, benchpress, lat pulldown, shoulder press, biceps curls and close grip benchpress for triceps. That's it nice and easy. When I do 12 reps in both sets, with perfect form, I will add weight. When I reach total standstill in all exercises, I will start doing less reps (i.e.: 2x8). I think, but I'll have to see what happens first.

I did a test to find my lactate treshold today. On a bike I did 10 min at 75% of max HR, and then 20 minutes all out. The average puls for the last 20 minutes is supposed to be my lactate limit. My average was 84%. I think that is a high number, but I will base my training on that number for now. This means (I hope!) that most of my long distance training should be done in the sub 75% sone (= zone 1), no training in zone 2 ( between 75% and 84%), my intervalls should be between 85% and 92% (zone 3), and zone 4 is 93% to 100% and is also a zone I should not train in. Listen up! If anybody reads this and knows better, please tell me as soon as possible. To me it looks ok, but what do I know?

Back on track!

I wish I knew how to make my blog look more nice, but I don't. It will look like this until I learn. And I guess that is how life is too. I wish I knew how to make it better, but I don't.

Anyways, I went swimming today. 1000 meters, no problem! average time on each 200 m was around 2:15. I will press that a bit lower, and I guess I should be able to do 1500 meters in the competition in around 30 minutes, come summer. Not bad. All I really have to do now is to maintain the swimming and work on the other two disciplines. I wonder how the running will go, after all I haven't run a meter yet.

A real IronMan!

I have met a guy who has finished NorseMan Extereme TWICE! He is in my class, doesn't look like an ironman, but he is. There might be hope for me too.

I went training yesterday. Weights, and that was it. I too a fitnesstest on the treadmill, and I am on level 5, with a VO2 max of 44,3. It's probarbly not very excact, but I will take another test in 4 weeks time and cheque again.

I have foun a program now, and I will post it on my blogg on sunday.

The problem with the money from the goverment is not sorted out yet, but atleast I know what the problem is. If something is going to ruin my life it is beeing dependent on them, so I will try to get independent soon.

P.S.: That butifull picture on the top of the page, that's Ringerike prison, where I spent a year and a half. It has the highest security ranking in Norway and is certified to imprison criminals of war. It's in a butifull place, but you can't tell once you're inside because the walls are 20 feet high.

Trouble in Paradise!

You know that feeling when everything is just perfect and then somebody comes along and ruins it all? Yeah, you do. I know it and it just happened to me. For some reason or another the government has deceided to only give me half the money I need to survive. Right now I feel lucky about my criminal past. It looks like I'll be up to old tricks in no time. It was not my plan, but a man has to what a man has to do. Many people are going to be disapointed, most of all myself. Heck, I should have known it was too good to be true!

Tomorrow I'll pack the rest of my things from the institution where I have a room and say my farewells. I'm not jumping straight back into crime, but I need to be ready when oportunity knocks, and that means ending my stay there. It is the right thing to do, so it must be done. It will be sad to end it this way, but what can I do? Let's hope a solution falls down in my lap by tomorrow.

I've just been swimming for an hour, and it feels great. I'm really getting the hang of it. So I know swimming won't be the biggest problem. My stamina is not good yet, but the technical side of it is allright. Bike an weights tomorrow. Not looking foreward to it, but it must be done. Oh yeah, I'm 98 kilos now. 3 to go and I can start running too.

Pain all over again.

I don't understand what is wrong with my legs. I did a couple of sets of squats with a really light weight and today I can hardly walk. So a day of rest is needed today again, but tomorrow it is full speed ahead.



Today I have spent he whole day at school. The only problem is this subject isn't half as interesting this year as it was last year. It is so boring  I almost feel like packing it in. But I can't give up. Who knws it might get better next year.

Back again!

Started to train again today. Walking twenty minutes as a warm-up, weights for about one hour and then the stationary bike for 35 minutes. I'm feeling well, happy to get back to it and as soon as I get my pay-cheque from the government I will find a triathlon to enter.

No hard drugs for five weeks now. I think this blog is helping me.

Still nothing!

Now I am gettin desperate! Still no training, but now that my friend has recovered almost to full fitness, I have no excuses. I will try today, but it probarbly won't be untill tomorrow.

I have done something usefull. I have found some nice sites on the internet where I am trying to learn something about training. begginnertriathlete.com and triathlongeek.com both have a lot of free stuff, and some stuff you can pay for. I'm going for the free stuff for now. Training diaries and suggestions for work outs are now on my computer. I will print them as soon as the printer starts working again.

Chaos!

I have not been training fpr a couple of days because of some personal stuff.

An old friend was unable to stay with his girlfriend anymore, so I told him he could stay at my house. In the evening, on our way to the subway, he was attacked by some street thugs and ended up with a broken jaw. So the the last few days I have spent at the hospita. He is now feeling better, out of hospital, and I must resume my training today.

More than a month without heavy drugs today. I think it is some sort of record!

Busy Day!

I've had a couple of busy days now. Helped a friend who didn't have nowhere to sleep, met my therapist, healthtest, school, homework, urinsample, travelling all over town. These things are normally challenging, but right now everything is running smooth.

Not much time for an update, because I'm going to my swimclass now.

Discovery.

I just discovered something. I can make a link from here to where ever. loplabbet.no is a place where they sell nice running equipment. It is a little expesive, but the service is excellent, so they are my first link. Congratulations Løplabbet, you're probarbly going to make a fortune from this free link. Anyway, I put it in my blog because they have some seriously nice trainingprograms for free on their homepage. It's in norwegian, but they can be translated.

My Vo max is 32,9 ml pr min. Terribly low! Maybe I taken on too much, so maybe I'll be the first person to drown in Eidsfjorden while atempting the "Norseman Extreme." Time will show, because I'm not giving up. Maybe I'll be the first hardcore druggie to finish instead. Pretty exciting!

I went training yesterday, and the gym was crowded. Over crowded. But I did my thing. Bike, run a little bit of rowing, and some weights. I do not feel any stronger, but my fitnesstest says I'm pretty strong. Good muscles, she said. And that was just about the only good thing she did say. Some other things she said was:  "Loose weight, eat regularly, get a coach, sleep more, stress less, strech!" I wanted to say:"NO WAY!", but I knew she was right so I shut up.

Today I need to catch up on some schoolwork, so no training.
